TRAINING

Hampton Court Half

21-02-16

The original Hampton Court Half Marathon is run over a fast, flat and visually interesting course that borders the river-side grounds of the magnificent Hampton Court Palace to the South West of London. My opening competition finished in 1 hour 30.

There is no easy way to prepare for the MDS, so I have decided to go for a mixed approach, weekly gym sessions for strength, 4 to 5 runs (gradually building in distance and speed) as well as a couple of high intensity sessions. However, to keep focus and push my body to its limits, I have signed up to a host of competitions from half marathons to a 64 mile ultra as well as a collection of heat and altitude running trips abroad. I will keep this page up to date with images (mainly of training), results and any up and coming competitions all of which I would warmly welcome support or running partners.

Hastings Half Marathon

20-03-16

94th place finish out of around 3500 in 1:28. This was however the hardest race/run I have taken on to date as you spend half he race just climbing hills- lesson learnt for next time- check the course beforehand and prep accordingly!

endurance, jurassic coast, ultra run, all day run, tough, trail ,trailrunning, tough, sea, view, hills, longest run, tired running, born to run, runner, running man, marathon man, sprinter

Jurassic Quarter Ultra Marathon

21-05-16

My first major test, The Jurassic Quarter is a new 46 mile Ultra Marathon along the South West Coast Path in the UK.

Completed in a time of 09:30 hours and in the top 3rd of the field. A very tough race-run/climb/walk combo but had fantastic support!

The RAT – Roseland August Trail

13-08-16

A straight 64 mile run across the Cornish coastline kicking off at 12:05 in the morning. By far the longest and toughest of my prep runs covering over two and a half marathons in a single stint. Any support will be more than welcome- a more thorough plan and goal will be set nearer the time.

endurance, jurassic coast, ultra run, all day run, tough, trail ,trailrunning, tough, sea, view, hills, longest run, tired running, born to run, runner, running man, marathon man, sprinter

Richmond Training Run

02-06-16

What was meant to be a lap of Richmond park ended up being a 22 mile run, including a lap of the park as well as a straight shot down the thames back to Fulham- slightly blistered feet and tired legs, but good to know the engine can handle the distance..

Northumberland Kielder Marathon

02-10-16

Currently my final marathon of 2016, I will hopfully be pushing for a near(ish) 3 hour finish. The Active Northumberland Kielder Marathon route follows an almost entirely off-road course around northern Europe’s largest man-made lake, Kielder Water, in Northumberland.
