MENCAP- WHAT THEY DO
How your donation will help:
£10 funds two calls to our helpline from people who urgently need advice
£15 can pay for the equipment for a family to read sensory stories with
their child to help them communicate
£40 could provide a visit from an advisor to support parents of someone with a learning disability.
Mencap is the leading voice of learning disability. Everything we do is
about valuing and supporting people with a learning disability, and
their families and carers.
Mencap's vision is a world where people with a learning disability are
valued equally, listened to and included. Their challenge, alongside
people with a learning disability and their families, is to make this
world a reality.
Right now, people with a learning disability face inequalities in every
area of life. Mencap needs to tackle the issues head on through tireless
campaigning and the delivery of high quality support and services to the
people who need us.
Beyond my personal goal there is a far greater reason for running the MDS and that is quite simply to raise at least £10,000 for a truly incredible charity, MENCAP, who spend every working hour making a positive difference to those with learning disabilities. Not everyone is born equal, but everyone should be given an equal opportunity to live, and live that life to its fullest. MENCAP ensure they do everything possible to make that statement a reality. So please dig deep and support MENCAP through supporting my run and efforts, I will give everything my body (and at times mind) has to give to this- so again please support me and donate- any and every amount is appreciated and needed.
